How To Install Shockwave Flash Object In Powerpoint 2010

PowerPoint allows you toand alsofileswithin your presentation. One of the file formats that you can use for these video options is Flash SWF.However, these SWF clips may not play because of security settings. Fortunately, you can use the Developer tab of theto insert Flash SWF movies.First of all, make the as it is not visible by default. You also need to have the updated version of Adobe's Shockwave Flash ActiveX control. To make sure, you have the current version installed,using Microsoft Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge browsers.

Remember: If you are inserting a Flash movie within PowerPoint, you need to place theFlash movie in the same folder which contains the PowerPoint presentation.Follow these steps to insert a Flash movie into using theDeveloper tab:. Open the PowerPoint presentation and select the slide where you want to insert the Flash movie.Access the Developer tab of the,and click the More Controls button (highlighted in red within Figure 1).Figure 1: More Controls button.This will bring up the More Controls dialog box that you can see in Figure 2. Select theShockwave Flash Object option, and click the OK button.Figure 2: More Controls dialog box.The cursor will now turn into a crosshair. When I wanted to insert a SWF into a PowerPoint 2007 presentation, I would use the More Controls dialog in PowerPoint's Developer tab to insert a Shockwave/Flash object. But in the released x64 PowerPoint2010, that control is missing from the dialog.

Where did it go? When I click the Register Custom DLL, there's no obvious file to choose, either. When using the Insert/Media button on the ribbon, there are many video formats recognized, butSWF and FLV are not among them.Has anyone else run into this? I'm not looking for a way to convert a SWF into a video that can be embedded or using a 3rd-party plug-in or anything like that.

I know how to do those things. I'm specifically looking to insert a SWF using only what's builtinto PowerPoint 2010 and Flash, so if anyone has info on it, please let me know!
